Creating Jobs
Indigenous employment and workforce development is a fundamental aspect of SIHIP.
A target of 20 per cent has been set for Indigenous employment across the program. Alliances are also looking to sub contract and use local companies that can provide services at a competitive cost, placing a priority on the use of local Indigenous companies.
Governments will work with communities and local industry with the aim of ensuring that jobs created through SIHIP will be sustainable.
